This is the online gallery of Glasgow based artist Thom Clark. 

​I am inspired by the relationship of mind and matter that creates the human psyche and the subconscious, heavily inspired by Jung’s theories and artworks. Each painting is a personal journey that is created to share and connect with the public. I base most of my symbolism on spirituality, metaphysics, and mythology to expresses inner thoughts of identity and psychology with dream-like effects. Each of us is blinded by the materialistic world of the 21st century. We battle with the polarity of these positive and negative forces as we all try to figure out who we are and give meaning to our existence, identity and surroundings. This battle creates images that sometimes emotional and raw yet relatable. My work reconnects to the inner workings of the brain and how we are affected by our surroundings by looking outward and then inward. Traversing both the digital art form of film and the physical art of painting, I am able to combine realism with embellishments of visions and dreams.
